Im talking about the pre-mixed stuff in a tube. I have a friend who is repainting his p/u with alot of help(too much) I stopped by too see how it was coming along and I was horrified. I am no body expert but I have painted 2 tractors and my 69, all turning out pretty good. It seemed too me this project is going down hill so I wanted too know what you guys think. They used some sort of scotch brite pads too rough up the entire truck and fixed some dents. it has a ton of rock chips and scratches that they are going over with spot putty. This is where you guys come in. It seems too me that you would sand it down too where you have no scratches left or at least very few. I bet there are 50 places where they puttied  I dont want too step on any toes, because it is not my project but if this putty is going too cause problems I want too at least warn them. They are not planning on priming the entire vehicle, only spots that have been fixed, as in the big dents not the small scratches. So what happens when you apply bc/cc directly over spot putty. Also there is one big spot on the corner of the hood and front fender where they used the spot putty, it is at least 8"x8". The color now is dark blue and they are going with a darker blue with a lot of metallic. so I assume the scratches will show even more. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
