I found a baseline yellow that I wanted to buy a qt. of so I could begin searching for the right color for my 66 Chevelle.

I took this code to a PPG dealer, they mixed up some OMNI for me.

I sprayed a rear quarter extension with this stuff. The color is so far from what I want, it does not look anything like the Saturn Yellow GSX's I've seen.

What gives? I thought this color would get me started, it's only discouraged me.

The tough part is, I don't have a chip of the color I want, I have to try and explain it to the person behind the counter, very frustrating.

Try going to the dealerships and get the code number off the window sticker. I am glad to see the greater use of yellow paint.
You might look at late 90's BMW's, Dakar yellow.

One of the most popular yellow colors for street rods is 74-77 Corvette Bright Yellow Code #56.

I'm finding it very difficult to find the right color, and also finding a paint shop that will help me.

Of course, everyone has an opinion of what kinda yellow I should use.

I guess I should have went to some cruise nights this summer, to help the search. I did not think it would be this difficult.
