Hey guys,

I already asked this question but I just want to be spoon fed at this point. (didn't get an answer last time) Looking for a chrome oil pan that will hold 6qts of oil (deep pan), and will fit on a 454 engine thats going into a 1971 Chevelle. I was just worried if I bought a standard one offline, it wouldn't fit in the cradle. Also,... whats the benefit of a "windage flap." Part numbers are welcome!

IMO, you dont want chrome, cannot dissipate heat as well. I'd go stock before I'd go chrome, I'm using Moroso 6qt with kickouts on both sides. Anything to control windage in the pan is a plus.

Will all these BB oil pans fit or do they need to be dented in somewhere?

On my other motor I used a Milodon stock replacement pan MIL-30710, around 100.00 in Summit. No, it didnt have to be dented, it was already clearanced for the inner tie rod ends and cleared the frame fine.
