: Heavy Chevy trim options
Professor_SS May 23rd, 02, 9:18 AM I was talking to a gentleman last night about Chevelle trim options and the subject of Heavy Chevy trim options came up.
Could you order drip rail chrome, wheel well trim and rocker chrome trim on the Heavy Chevy? I was under the impression that you could get almost anything on the Heavy save the 454 big block engine. Anyone have the sales lit or order spec sheet info on the 71/2 Heavy?

JOHNW May 24th, 02, 2:00 PM I dont know if this will help or not but. I have a heavy chevy and it didnt have any of the options u listed. It did have a bench seat rather than the buckets. And a few other things that were different. But to actually answer your questions im not sure.
Cam May 25th, 02, 12:52 AM Wheel openings would be a dealer option, as could a luggage rack (naa...).
You could order a vinyl roof, or a white roof with a few selected colors. You could also just get the D99 moldings that gave the same division moldings as the vinyl roof & 2 tones (including C-pillar moilding). The B84 vinyl moldings I think were also available. These are the mid door level horizontal moldings that ran from the rear part of the front fenders, across the doors onto the rear quarters. You could also get factory door edge guards, and bumper guards. As you can see mostly the dorky moldings were offered. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif
Professor_SS May 25th, 02, 7:42 AM Ok, I thought I remembered that the Heavy could be ordered with damn near every trim option the SS and/or Malibu packages had on them save the 454. I could have sworn that there was a Heavy in Southern Calif when I lived out there in the early 70s that had the rocker trim and chrome drip edge moldings, but maybe not. I know the car had the SS dash and buckets, non functioning cowl hood, and carpet. I got a quick ride in it one time but can't be 100% on the exterior trim.

MalibuJerry350 May 25th, 02, 8:43 AM Doesn't Bill K. have an original Heavy Chevy? Maybe he'll chime in here with the answer.

Shawn May 26th, 02, 7:24 PM Dorky! I think they're classy looking! Are you calling my car a dork because it came with all those?! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif I suppose they may look out of place on a Heavy Chevy or SS though.
