I have read through a ton of frame-related topics on this site, but I didn't find anything about using a convertible frame with a hardtop. Is there any problems to watch for, or is it pretty much straight forward? This question pertains to the 70 model year. Is there provisions in the hardtop body to allow use of the extra cushions that convertible cars have, or should I mount the body down as I would with a hardtop frame?
The reason for this post is that my Chevelle was a race-car project that was abandoned by a former owner, and their roll cage welds are all over my otherwise solid frame. I can get a good deal on a solid covnvertible frame from a guy I know, and I know the 'vert frames are stiffer. Thanks in advance.
