Hi guys.
I will be sandind the rust off of a bed panel and useing a self eching primer before starting the filling process. what would be the best thing to use to clean the bare metal before priming?

What are you trying to clean off the bare metal? Grease oil silicone or flash rust. If all you want to do is dust the bare metal clean you can try a thinner or alcohol MEK acetone that also remove grease ect. If you suspect silicone, find a silicone remover. I hope this helps, or maybe I missed why you wanted to do this.

Thanks very much for your reply to my cleaning concerns. I am sorry that I was not more clear about my intent.
I am sand blasting a smugglers panel for the ol Elky and I thought that it might be a good idea to chemicaly clean the metal after blasting and before using a self etching primer.

just dont touch the panel before etching it.
