Just the last couple of days the a/c in my 99 S-10 has smelle funny when i turn it on , it kinda goes away after a few min. but not totally
any ideas ?? thanks in advance for any input

How is your heater core? If it is leaking, this could be the source of the smell.

Does it smell kind of moldy or musty? I try to get in the habit of turning my AC off a few minutes before I get to where I'm going to dry things out a bit. I think you are smelling mildew.

Had a mouse get it my fan motor and die once, smelled terrible.

The dealer has a kit you can purchase to remedy the smell.

febreze the air ducts by spraying into the air recirc opening.
