Well, after getting all the supplies and equipment, not to mention all my questions answered over the past year or so, I've finally started the process of painting the '67. Talk about a ton of work! The panels are finally aligned as good as they will possibly fit (previous owner put on new door skins that seem to be slightly out of whack, but nothing too horrible)I sectioned off my bay in the garage with plastic sheeting, added some lighting in, etc etc.... made a full on booth more or less. Right now, she's all sanded down, and I'm about halfway around the car working a little filler to get the panels perfect- they were pretty much straight to begin with, with zero rust, but still, the fine tuning is a job in and of itself. Can't wait to start playing with the sanding primer- spray, block, spray, block, spray, block, and once I think I have it perfect, do it again. It's a heck of a job, especially after getting up to work at 5:30am, getting home at 7, dinner, then car time until bed time. I know it will be a rewarding experience, though- it already has given me a new appreciation for those of you who do this all day, every day. graemlins/beers.gif

Once she's done, however, she'll be a smooth as glass marina blue SS bruiser- can't wait.

new appreciation for those of you who do this all day, every day. Keep track of your hours :D I hope your project goes well.
I read a lot of magazines, unfortunately the labor and talent envolved with the body repair and paint on the perfect show worthy feature rides is most often times overlooked. Sometimes the bodywork and paint is stretched out over the course of years and yet the guy that built the engine or installed the turbo, suspension, exhaust, etc. gets most of the credit for project. Just not right IMO.
