I agree. What exactly is your question regarding the "inner door skins"?? I have been taught to regard door skins as the outer sheet metal. Please add some more info.

If you are refering to the dood "shell" the sheetmetal that the window regulator bolts to, that is a tough one. If it is only surface rust, and it usually is, being it is vertical. A red scuff pad can do wonders. Remember if a little surface rust says there, it is going to stop where it is after you treat it. The Rust needs moister (spelling doesn't look right) and Oxygen, do if it is sealed, it will stop.

The most effective way to clean the inside of the door would be to chemical dip the door, but that is an awful lot of work just to chase out some surface rust. There are various types of rust removers that you could slop around in there and then paint later. No matter how you do it, it will be difficult treat everywhere inside the door.

To really stop the rust, you need to remove everything from inside the door: window, crank mechanism etc., and latch/lock assemblies. With door off the car, you can use the easy flow characteristics of POR-15 to get it in all the nooks and crannies you can't reach by brushing, by turning the door at different angles to get the POR to flow where you want it. This is after you've cut out all the rust on the outer skin and welded new metal in its place.

Ok, I have seen this POR-15 on a number of sites, what is it and how does it work?

Oh, I don't have that kind of rust .: just wanted to prep it for sound coating and didn't want it to bite me in the ass anytime soon. You have any idea what knda of labor time would be involved in dipping or other remedies?
