What should I use to scuff DP50LF epoxy primer before I spray the acrylic urethane primer/surfacer ??? What should I use as a sealer over the surfacer or do I need one before I apply the PPG "Omni" base coat? I'm getting conflicting info from my PPG supplier and she just doesn't seem to be real sure of herself. I ask her "What should I use" and she gives me 3 or 4 suggestions. You can use this, or this, or this........ I guess I "could" shoot the car with latex house paint, but that just is not the correct way to paint a car (joking of course) graemlins/clonk.gif I need some real advice. Sevt_chevelle has given me some great advice so far, but I just wanted a bit more clarification and verification from Sevt_chevelle or anybody else before proceeding with the primer/surfacer and before I buy the PPG "Omni" product BC/CC. ;) Thanks

Well you can take a DA sander with say 320 0r 220 grit use a red srcotchbrite pad on the areas you cant get with a da.
Just a tad of info on OMNI base, please dont use it. I know its cheaper but theres a good reason it cheaper. The OMNI base is very thin and watered down. It doesnt cover very well, can take even up to 3 times the amount of base to cover. Ive painted a few gallons of OMNI :( and not by choice. If OMNI takes say even 6-7 coats to cover were PPG deltron(DBC-DBU) can cover in 2-3 coats where is the savings??
And dont even get me started on OMNI single stage
Anyway if you have the entire car in an urethane primer surfacer there is no real need of a sealer. Some painters like it for insurance reasons, but if its in surfacer then dont worry about it.

That's good news Sevt_chevelle graemlins/thumbsup.gif
I will finish applying the DP50LF epoxy primer, scuff that with 320 on the DA (and red scotchbrite), then go over that with my Ultra Fill II acrylic urethane primer/surfacer, which I will wet sand with 400 grit before spraying the Deltron basecoat. I now have a clear plan to proceed with ;) Thanks for the specific direction to proceed. That's what I needed. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
