I have often seen pics of El Caminos and Chevelles, with stripes. I just wanted to know if this is original or not. And if so, what model/years did it come on? Please forgive my stupidity, I'm new to the Chevelle thing. Thanks-Dan

The big band-aid type stripes are 70-72 SS Deck stripes. In 68 and 69 SS cars could be be had with body stripes that traced the contours.
Some years look good with custom versions of the 70-72, 67's that have the stripes mimic the hood contours can look neat.
Basicly if it is stock stripeing it can look cool where as these kids taking a honda and putting a H-U-G-E offset ralley stipe in a contrasting color can look like ass. Take a look at an old BRE Datsun 510 to see what good import sripes can look like.
