in process of retrofitting a firebird rear disc setup to a 70 chevelle everything looks pretty good, the question is calipers are mounted opposite each other
the problem is the one that will face rear. shock mount bracket is in the way of e brake mech, one opotion is to flip the caliper to front but now the bleeder will be on the bottom any help would be appreciated........

I see nobody replied to your question, so I will dive in.
Do not mount the caliper so the bleeder is on the bottom. You will never be able to bleed all the air out. That wheel will likely always be "spongy" from trapped air. Bleeders must always be on top, at the highest point if possible. I don't know if mounting the calipers opposite each other from side to side will be a problem. I doubt it, but I am no expert on this. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

I've got the '81 Trans Am discs on my Firebird. Opposite from each other is the way the factory made them. The only downside is you might have to have the parking brake cable for the passenger side shortened, or have a new one made. It hangs kind of low on my Firebird. Still have to do that one. Also, have you tried mounting the rotors yet? I had to turn down the axle flanges to get mine to seat. Since the car has a posi, I started it up, put it in gear, and used a grinder on the outside of the flange to turn it down to the proper size for the rotor hat to seat over it.

You can mount the caliper with the bleeder down, you just need to bleed it off the mounts and with a block of wood in it. I did this on a suburban that I had. It was late on a sunday and I needed a caliper. I had a left side, but I needed a right. They interchange except for the bleeder. I was able to bleed it off the mount and got a nice firm peddle. I did change it later though.....
