Has any one built a 396/402 with longer rods(6.385) or longer? is it worth while? I know a 454 + cubic inch motor is as cheap to do and the power benifits, just wondering if you would see more torque/horsepower from this motor

I've heard of people putting in 454 cranks in 396's to bring them to 434 cubes....is this what you're talking about?

No reason to build a longer rod 396 or 402 motor. the rod ratio is already favorable at 1.63 (same as a 427). THe other issue is pistons - other than custom, there are no options.
