The best method Ive found to install those rods is start on the deck lid arm side. You need to remove the deck lid or have someone hold it up, you dont want any tension on the rod while installing. To begin the end that goes on the arm is shaped like a U(as seen in pic 2-12) that end connects to the deck lid arm. The end with the J bend is the adjustment end.
To start you need to slide the rod into the deck lid arm hole-shaped like a T( seen in Pic 1-1). Once you have that end in continue to slide so the adjustment of rod is in the adjustment slot hole(pic3-1). It just needs to be in the hole not into a slot. Once that adjustment end is in hole, position the torque rod into the slot on the decklid arm(seen in pic2-12) once done make sure it looks like pic1-1.
Now the decklid arm side is done, the adjustment side should still be in the hole. Now in order to place the rod onto the holding tab(seen in pic3-1)the tab is where the rod bends down then goes into the slots. In order to place the rod into that tab you need to slightly bend the rod in the middle with slight hand pressure. This makes the rod in sense shorter allowing you to move the rod onto this holding tab. With rod in tab release pressure and now rod is installed.
If you cant bend rod in middle with your hand you can use a small pickle fork, used to seperate ball joints. Looks like a U with a rod coming down at the bottom of U. Place rod in the U and push rod towards front of car. Also this fork is handy to adjust the rods if you dont get it in the proper slot the first time.
