Got home from HI yesterday. Great trip, 4 days on Oahu, 4 in Maui.
A big thanks to Darren (Cameano). Darren hooked us up with submarine tour/rides while we were in Waikiki. Definately one of the highlights of our trip. Later that day Darren came down and met us for a beer, or 2, or 3. Had a good time drinking and talking.

Darren didn't know me from Adam but went out of his way to arrange the ride for us at a very 'deep' discount, is it ok to say how much Darren? He even kept an eye on the weather and re-scheduled for better conditions, just because we're both TC members.

I'll post a few pics later, still unpacking and adjusting to the time change.

Thanks again Darren. Glad we were able to get together and enjoy a cold one. :beers:

Hank, not a problem. Was a pleasure meeting you and your family. Can't do those deals every day, but once a year, not a problem. ;) What's really cool is, I went out to the car cruise at Kapolei, was a nice night. Ended up running into Jeff (HawaiianCamaro) out there. His Yenko Z-28 is a beautiful car, I'm jealous. I took the Firebird, and out of 200-250 cars or so, it was the only Pontiac I saw. Now if I could just get the paint finished.

Anyway, Hank, had a great time. Want to thank you again for the :beers: :D

Darren, the beers were my pleasure. The least we could do after the sub ride you set us up with.

I'm the good looking young guy on the right! J/K, I'm the the old guy on the left. As Darren said in the other post we were still walking after 3 pitchers. :beers: Made it back to the hotel and had a couple more, I think he was trying to kill me! :D

My wife and I on the boat coming back from the sub ride.

Had a great time, I'll sort through the other 261 pictures and post a few more later. Good to be home but I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Hank,
Doing the same thing you just did in December. What parts of Maui should we see, is there anything that is a "must do?"
Thanks
Mike

Mike,

We stayed in Kihei, rented a condo for 4 days. I know we didn't see everything we would have liked to. There is a snorkel trip you can take, 5 hours, meals, drinks, 3 stops for snorkeling. You need to do that or at least one of the afternoon 3 hour trips.

The old whalers village in Lahaina, shops, restaurants, Happy Hour :beers: , if your wife, etc. wants to do some shopping. They also have para sailing there.

The road to Hana. Didn't get to do that, my sister wasn't up to it. I'll do it next time.

If you're on that side of the island I would go to Lahaina and check out the specials they have. You can get a good deal on combined snorkel, para sail, whale watching excursions.

We also layed on the beach and played in the surf. I'm still washing sand out of my ears and other places! :D

Just looking out at the mountains and ocean from the condo was a treat, what a beautiful place. I'm sure others will have more suggestions, we just didn't have enough time. No matter though, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. :)

PS. I wasn't crying all week. Just the weekend......
Just the weekend! Harry I'm crushed, I knew something was wrong, you just haven't been the same lately. :( There's someone new isn't there? I'll bet it's that Tom guy.

Breakfast at Moose McGillicudy's is a must, downtown Lahaina on Front street second floor. :hurray:

Me and a few buddies got kicked out of there about 14 or so years ago. We were sitting outside on the lanai, pretty much plastered, getting a bit loud with the passersby, I guess. :D Good food there, but they're usually out of "The Moose" prime rib when I go, for some reason. They have one in Waikiki, too.

We did happy hour and dinner there, had the prime rib too!

LuLu's in Kihei, like Moose's except in Kikei.

Alexander's in Kihei is a great place for take out Mahi and Tuna.
Also two of my favorite's are Mama's on the north shore and Longhi's (Lahaina) for breakfast.
