my rear axel housing is sandblasted and ready for paint. what's the best process for painting it?

i, after sandblasting epoxy primed mine ,waited 1 hr ,painted color,waited 40 min then cleared it with a little flatner added to clear,i just dont like anything real shiney under there

I used Eastwood Chassis Black on mine. You can also spray it with a natural color as well. I used the Eastwood Rust Encapsulator as a primer/sealer. It's held up just fine for 5 years now. I usually spray it down with carb cleaner first to get any grease/oil residue that may still be on there off beforehand.

I know its not "correct", as far as restoration goes, but I used truck bed coating in a spray can. Its very durable and provided a nice flat black and somewhat textured finish. I like it!
