Hey all,
I was wondering the best way to fill in a 2 1/2" hole in my dash. The hole is to the right of my steering colum next to the ash tray. Im not that good of a welder and im scared of warping the metal to hell. Would bondo work? :D

I'd throw some kind of guage in it and be done with it. Trans temp guage? Rich/lean guage, boost guage, get my drift?

make a patch piece out of scrap steel and get some of the new panel adhesives I've been reading about in the body shop form. Stick it on from the back side and bondo the front.

Here's what I did...I filled in the ashtray and the heater controls on my dash. I cut out a piece of sheetmetal a little bigger than the holes. Then just tacked it in from the front. You don't have to be a master welder to do this. Then ground everything down and filled it with Duraglass. Follow that up with some bondo and your done!
