I'm looking for some information on where I could go to get some custom paint-work done.

I'm in SoCal (San Diego), and I've got some paint work to be done on both my 68 Chevelle SS and my 06 Silverado. I've got some ideas on what I want done, but don't know who does a great job around here (design and spraying), so I figured I'd turn to the experts here. :)

Any advice would be fantastic. :)

Go to some shows and find some custom work and ask the owners.
BE SURE that the shop you settle on will bend over bkwds to give what you want.
Go through the graphic work 100% on ideas and sketches. Don't just explain, make them understand what you want.
Get some scale drawings of your vehicles and let them show you that your communicating exactly what you want.
