I'm looking to get classic car insurance on the '72, and am looking for advice from you guys to choose which company is right for me. The car is not a daily driver, is garage kept at my parents house, is driven usually less than 2,500 miles a year, but would like a 5,000 mile or higher limit just in case, pleasure driving and the very rare drive to work is mandatory :) It's primarily just used for the occasional hour or so long pleasure drive on weekends or to the car show. Also the occasional out-of-state drive to a show will be needed.

I've gotten quotes from all the big guys, but I'm curious to hear from people who have actually had to file a claim and how it went. God forbid I'd ever have to file a claim on the old Chevelle, but in case it does happen I want to know that they aren't going to pull the typical BS that insurance companies have a reputation for. Of course no bashing of insurance companies, just looking for solid input before making a decision :)

I have Hagerty for my 69. I've never filed a claim, but the price is unbeatable ($100/yr for $10,000 agreed value). No mileage or usage limits, but I do have to keep it inside a locked garage and also show proof of another car that I use for daily transportation.

The only car insurance companies I've dealt with on a claim were State Farm (never any problems) and Allstate (loads of problems). I've also dealt with Farmer's on a homeowner's claim and my attorney was on his way to Federal court to file a lawsuit before they finally agreed to stop fu***** around.

My 69 Camaro was stolen last year. Hagerty insured. Claim was painless. Losing the car wasn't
