I have a 72 A-body vehicle and have a vinyl roof. I had the front window resealed 6 months ago and it stopped leaking. Now it leaks again. There is rust under the top but don't want to mess with the roof. The top is the original. It also leaks at the back window. My question is what can I do to seal the windows without messing with the top? Someone told me that roofing tar can stop it but am unsure. Need help!

I would suggest cleaning the channel as good as possible after pulling the trim from both windows. Buy a couple of caulk tubes of black polyurathane caulk (Probably not spelled right but Home Depot carries it.) as it is similar to the caulk used when the windows are put in but it will harden after about a week. It will remain VERY flexible and won't crack.
NOW, understand that it will stick like heck to the trim when you put it back on and it will seal it, but if you ever plan to take the trim off again you will be buying new trim! While fresh, paint thinner will clean this caulk from the glass, trim and vinyl.
You will basically be making a one piece seal from the glass to the vinyl. I did this on my beater 69 Chevy Longhorn truck, even sealed holes in the sheetmetal around the windshield. This is permanent and it won't leak.

This will work for a quick fix. however, be CAREFUL!!! It sounds like you are getting moisture near the windows. Eventually, the moisture will get under that vinyl and wreak havoc.
If you see any bubbling under the vinyl pull it off ASAP and get rid of the rust. I had this problem on my 69 SS El Camino and now I have huge rust bubbles on my roof that are now sealed with good ol POR15. Good luck!
