I got new tail light bezels and I can't seem to get them to tighten up againsts the tail light housing across the top . There is a pretty big gap and the gasket is loose. I'm not bottoming out with the bolts and I think if I put any more pressure something will give and crack.
with the old ones I don't even have totighten the bolts and they are up againsts the housing.
I got them from ground up. On the back of them it says J' leys. The car is a 69 chevelle SS.What should I do?
Thanks for any help
Jerry

Hi Jerry. If I'm not mistaken, the bezels form fit to the contour of the housing as you pull them up tighter. In other words they (bend) to the shape of the housing. Just make sure you don't have something binding between them so they can't pull up tight and flush. Hope this helps.

C.C.C.Please post if this works.
I also have a new set (from Modern Chevrolet)they have the same problem.
$110.00 wouldnt want to crack one and I sure wouldnt want to mess up the paint trying to make them fit.
Thanks T.C.

I sent mine back to Ground up. Another reason I sent them back was because they were also pitted, not big pits but alot of small ones.
I really don't think they were made right because my orginals fit perfect even without being bolted down.
Someone said that yearone has them made by I think goodmark and the fit is supposed to be good but they won't have any until the 3rd week in august.
Like you said too much money for something that doesn't fit good.
Everything else I got from Ground Up was very nice.
Good luck with your

I got mine from Year One and they were not made by Goodmark! They said J Leys just like yours did.. But they seemed to fit OK Except the screws were different threads--metric!
