Ok, well, i was working on myengine bay the other weekend and leaned down and felt the lower radiator hose and found something!! When you squeeze the hose, there was like a ball of something inside it!! So, i pulled the hose (freakin filled the system like a few weeks ago!) and when i looked in saw a bundle of wire in it!!!! WTH!!?? The only thing i can think of is the spiral wiring inside the hose came apart. Has anyopne ever heard of this!? My car is running like 15* cooler now!!

Never heard of that but cooler is better...Try patenting that wire! You could sell it as an aftermarket product performance enhancer like those Tornadoes and octane boosters and so on.

But seriously, do you know when that hose was last looked at, changed? Ever had a garage or anyone besides you do rad. work on that car? Did it look like the thread from that hose came loose?

No, it runs cooler now that i pulled it out! I have had the car for about two years now and i changed the hose. It isn't the original (no markings except "made in taiwan"!!) Now, it is like REALLY squishy/soft. I'm just gunna leave it until i get my new motor in. I was just wondering where it could have come from:confused:

the spring is there to stop the hose Collapsing from the suction of the water pump and stopping water flow

As curt70 said, it is supposed to be there. The coil (wire) that you found has nothing to do with any wire that may have been inside the rubber itself. This is a separate wound coil that is put inside the hose when it is new to keep the hose from collapsing.

As the coiled wire breaks down and deteriorates, it can bunch up.
Unless you had significant blockage, you shouldn't see any difference in coolant temperature.
What is your mixture now ? Coolant vs water ?

Straight water will run cooler than a water/antifreeze mix.
