I put my chevelle on ebay and it only got to 9700! Its a real ss and everything! new paint, frame was sandblasted and powdercoated, everything was done to the car, why did it go at such a low price?

I would guess poor search words, poor listing, or just inexperieneced ebay seller. it takes more skill than you think. I listed 2 navigation systems a while back, both were exactly the same and brand new. The first only went for about 675.00, the second I did some research and re-listed the following week; itr went for 1,000.00.

ebay's funny like that sometimes

i've seen things sell for double what they're worth and other stuff sell for only half

but the real question is how much was the car really worth anyway - not how much you wanted to get or had invested in it or the appraised value ........

if you got a fair price for that car in that condition - then its all good .........

Let's see the ad. Pictures would be good

The initial pics in you ad are pretty sad. Folks like big clear pics. Under the hood looks a little dirty and the intake has that stain on the front to make it look like a leaker. Car is missing the side chrome. To me it looks like a an unfinished project(drivable).
Lastly your feedback is for buying and even folks on Ebay will be slow to bid high on some one without a lot good selling feedback.
A relist with better pics would help including some of the chassis when it was powder coated. I wouldn't guess on the value of your car as I think they are all over priced at this point :). Good luck.

I would say that the car needs to be detailed.
The pictures are terrible. No offense meant by that. It's the truth.
You need to clean the car up, and I don't mean a quicky wash job. I mean a toothbrush to get the grime out of the crevices.
Take it to a nice park setting or waterfront.
Get good clear pictures. I can tell you this. Nobody is impressed with your rusty ladder !
You're going to need somebody else to write the ad for you. Your description is not formatted right. We know it has a cam ! It wouldn't run if it didn't ! Be more specific.

You took dark pictures of your car in the garage and you don't know why it didn't bring more money ? Give me a break.

I don't get it. You spent all that time and money on the paint job. Aren't you proud of it ? Or are you trying to hide something ?

I challenge you to look at your own ad, imagine that you are the buyer. Would you bid on the car with the limited information in the ad and the dark pictures ??

The heater hoses aren't hooked up, no fan shroud (that I can see), the front bumper is crooked, the front liscense plate isn't mounted, the front valance is missing. Get these items fixed and I think you could get the $15K !!

Check out some other eBay ads for similar cars.
Professional salesmen and dealers ads are usually the best.

Do you need to find a splash panel for under the front bumper or do you have it ?
You should also install the body side moldings. That is what differentiates a Malibu from an SS. (the 2 rear qtr moldings).

Fan shroud ? heater core ?

i have the filler panel, i dont have any holes for the body side moldings? I must have doors from a malibu?

Malibu doors are the same. they use the same molding !
Check out how the moldings attach to the door. I think you'd have studs with nuts on either end. Not sure if you should have the studs on the door for the middle part of the molding or not ???
The hardest part is finding the rear quarter moldings that go behind the tire. They are SS only for 1968. Maybe they reproduce them ??

Do you have a couple months to get the these things ironed out, or do you need to sell it right away ?

So for the moldings they just clamp on each side of the door on the edge? How do they rear ones stay in place? I dont need to sell it right away but I also want to get as much money as I can to.

Just what has already been said. The pictures leave a potential buyer wondering what you are trying to hide.

Pick up a 1968 Fisher body manual.

A good example of nice photos are the auctions with the Ebay Girl thats often posted here. (5-head). Take a look at a couple of those and see how the seller has them in bright sunlight, clean as a whistle, from dozens of angles, etc

Looks like a decent car.
I'd say IMHO and experience you should be able to get 11-12K for it realistically.
Removing the window tint and at least having the moldings (even if not installed) will add to the price.
