installing a rear stabilizer (sway bar) on the vette i just bought and cant figure out how in the heck you get that poly bushing onto the bar. it is split on one side but doesnt open anywhere near enough to slide on the end. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

What year corvette?
I just replaced rear sway bar bushings on a BB 65 corvette(rubber bushings).
I believe they were the same up until 82.

I used a large craftman socket(so the bushing can be pressed all the way in) one side and another craftman socket to press the bushing in. I used a vice to press them together. I had a friend hold the sway bar while I operated the vice. I hope this helps

thanks for the reply. i ended up using a screwdriver to spread the bushing at the split just enough to work it over the forged (flat) end of the swaybar and it finally slid on. btw it is a 68. 65's are awesome! post some pics when you can. i love those things.
