Anybody know if 1971-72 Chevelle's had T-3 headlights?

I believe all '71 & '72 Chevelles and El Camino's came w/ Power Beam headlights. I mean they said sealed beam in a round circle in the middle of the headlight. I have seen the large T-3 that you are talking about, I believe they were used on early cars.

I'm going on memory from this, but I remember the T3 as only being used on 4 headlight systems.
The 2 headlight systems like 71-72 probably used the Power Beam headlight.
But, then, who paid that close attention to such little details 30 years ago. Mostly, we just used them until they burned out and replaced them with whatever brand of headlight we found in the nearest store.

The Power Beam headlights debuted in '70 on Camaros & Monte Carlos. All others (2 & 4 light) continued to use T3s. In '71 the Power Beam with it's diode emblem replaced T3s in all applications.

One of the reason's I asked was that when I bought my 1969 Chevy truck it came with the 7" T-3 headlights so I know that they did make them. Maybe they stopped around that year?

Thanks for the replies...

T-3s were manufactured until 1972, when GM switched to the Power Beam headlights (the center of the bulb has the famous Delco circle.

1972 T-3s will not have the traditional triangle crest, the T-3 logo is embossed at the bottom of the H/L bulb.

1968-71 T-3 logos will have vertical fluted bars, unlike early T-3s, which are smooth. The most common vehicles to locate T-3s are those with 4 headlight systems.
