I just bought a 115,000 btu heater & thermostat for my garage. I wanted to paint my frame & trunk with POR-15. How long should I keep my garage heated?

I'd think at least a few days. Remember that POR-15 uses humidity as part of the curing process, so you probably want to put a humidifier in the garage, too.

Here's the link to everything you ever wanted to know about POR-15. They say drying time is 3-6 hours depending on humidity but I doubt a humidifier is necessary.

The rule of thumb I go by when i use POR-15 is:

When the black spots have worn off the hand you DIDN'T put a glove on are gone, anything you MEANT to paint is CURED!!

Good one DG http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif As stated, the humidifier is not necessary. POR-15 will cure just fine without adding moisture to the air. The best situation is to have the metal being coated above 55 degrees. It is not necessary to continue to heat the garage once the POR-15 has started to cure. Depending on the humidity, POR will begin to cure as soon as it is applied and will be to the tacky stage within a couple of hours.
