Hi,
I finally got something. The used car dealer sent me pics:
http://callisto.si.usherb.ca/~eslcafe/chevelle/

I need someone to help me evaluate the pics. What do you see that my untrained eye doesn't?

The price is $6000 Canadian. Registers 80,000 & some odd miles. I did insist on a third party written appraisal, but he hasn't done that yet. He bought it at an action and drove it home. He says it runs.

Could someone plese help out? I've been looking for so long it's killing me. before I put the financing together, and drive 10 hours to go get it, I'd like some advice.

VIN: 1363701553187
The year is 1970.
The make is Chevrolet.
The model is a Chevelle Malibu 2-door colonnade hardtop coupe.
The motor ia a V-8. ( Optional motors are not decodable by VIN. )
It was manufactured in Oshawa, Ont. (Toronto).
The production sequence number is 553187.

To me the car looks pretty rough. The floorboards are rusted though in spots and also the inner rockers. Both rocker panels on the outside appear to show some rust coming though but hard to tell. Also the frame behind the front tires looked kinda soft also. The right hand quarter looks real rough behind and in front of the tire. Also the front fenders on the bottoms show some bubbling. The pass door shows some rust on the bottom.

The floor boards need to be replaced, and more then likely if the floor is that bad the trunk is that bad also. Coming from someone who does bodywork all day long and currently in the process of restoring a chevelle front to back with the only original piece of metal being the firewall and roof, replacing a floor, trunk floor, rockers and quarters and everything else in between is not fun or cheap. My advice to you is keep looking for a better car. You'll be so farther along in the game if you buy a nice car then a piece of junk

I am from south western Ontario. If the car is not to far away from me I might be able to look at it for you.

You were looking at another Chevelle some time ago. That car was only 10 mins. away from my house, I looked at that particular car and it was really rough.

So if you want you can email me the information about where the car is and a phone number and name.

My email is bbecker0@yahoo.com

If the car is near me, I too would look at it. Post it's location (or if you prefer-email me if it near by).

bbecker: We aren't very far from each other - we'll have to get together sometime, maybe bench race a bit.
