I have a 1970 Chevelle SS 396, and I have a problem with the cables from the hood latch pins rubbing on the paint. I know at one time or another, I read of a tip someone sent about how to remedy this problem. The only problem is I don't remember what is was! If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. Thanks

Are you saying the cables are exposed, as in metal hitting the hood? I used some good thick heat shrink tubing from the local hardware store and hit it with a heat gun and viola! Shrunk around the cable, no more metal to metal contact, has lasted for three years with no deterioration (sp?)

these cables have a plastic coating on them already. They rub on the piece that holds the 2 headlights in. I don't know what to use. The wind makes them move around
