Borrowed my mechanic friends priming tool. Put fresh fuel in tank(siphoned out old) buttoned things up last night, checked wiring, etc and plan on priming the oil pump tonight to get oil to the top end of the motor. It's been alomost four years since the Chevelle has run. Can't wait to hear it once again and neither can my son. He's really excited. Hope to have it on the road in two more weeks. Wish us luck. Just had to share our excitment with you all. If it wasn't for TC and it's members this would not have been possible. Been a lot of ups and downs and disappointments but I'm sure once we hear that motor some of that will disappear. Pete and Nicholas.

When I saw the title, I thought it was gonna a thread about senior prom.
I hope everything goes well, I am in the same place, only I can't seem to scare up any help. The wife wouldn't quite cut it.

Sleeping last night wasn't a problem since it was 2:00am when I went to bed. It's the anticipation today that's got me. My son asked me this morning if "today is the day?" and seemed really excited, which for most 17 y/o's is hard to do especially in the morning.
John radiator is full but had to stop by and pick up power steering flluid.
Fire extinguisher, gulp, would be a good idea. Hope I don't need it. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Pete

I just went home for lunch and fired mine up, cuz I couldn't wait any longer. Of course now I have to figure out why the alternator isn't working, why the power steering is rough, where that darn exhust leak is, and why the transmission won't shift out of first gear. Sigh. It's a darn good thing this is fun...
I tried to get my wife to help last night. All she had to do was turn the key. boy it was like going to the dentist.

WOW- Seems like just yesterday that you had a close encounter with the deer kind. Bet that you are proud of the accomplishment.
