Is it safe to assume that the ignition on a 1969 Chevelle is replaced via the column by removing the steering wheel? The existing and replacement ignition switch/key does not have a removal hole as I have seen on others.

Sixty9, The ignition key and tumbler assy is accessed under the steering wheel, but the electrical switch itself is down on the column under the dash and you have to drop the column to have good access to it. If you need more info, reply again.
