The radio antena on my car is located on the front passenger side fender. All of the pictures I have seen of these same cars , its located on the rear fender.I have the original sales brochure of the car,and it doesnt show an antena at all.Whats up with that? And also, if you could tell me where I could order a replacement antena I would apreciate the info. Thanks David

Don't know about 66 but on my 68 if the antenna was located on the front pass fender and was fixed length it was for an AM/FM. AM only was on the rear and was adjustable.

David, I know on 69 and 67 cars. they could be had with either an antenna up on the fender, or the rear quarter. It's location in later years did not denote in any way which radio it was associated with, the style of antenna did whether a fixed mast (FM) or retractable (AM). I cannot imagine the 66 cars were any different, but hopefully an expert on the 66 will chime in. good luck. Jason. PS. We here at team chevelle appreciate it when new members fill out their member profile, so we know who we are talking too and where you might be from.

66 Chevelles could get be had with either.. front passenger side mounted antenna or rear passenger side antenna.
If a Front antenna.. it was Telescopic if AM radio. The same would be true for a Rear mounted antenna.
If your car came with a Factory Am/Fm radio then the antenna was only mounted in front and was Fixed straight mast., no rear mounted antenna if the car came with Am/Fm radio.

If no antenna was shown on the brochure, either it's a 'concept drawing' and was omitted or the car may not have had a radio ordered. Any radio was optional...no radio, no antenna. Some call the plate to block the radio hole when none was ordered as a 'radio delete' plate which is incorrect. You can't 'delete' what was optional to order in the first place. :D
I would think any good Chevelle aftermarket supplier (Henshaws, Ground Up, True Connections, Year One, The Paddock, etc.) could come up with a 'correct' replacement antenna if a 'corrent' antenna is what you're looking for. If only one manufacturer makes a part, most aftermarket suppliers will sell them.
