Does any one know the main differnece in a chassis of a 67 ElCamino and a 67 Chevelle? I know one is a bit longer, but where? I guess the wheelbase and body mount points are the same. I am using the ElCamino chassis as a mock up for building a new High Performance chassis with C5/C4 front suspension and a tri 4 Bar rear for my 67 Chevelle.

I saw on another person's website that the Elco frame is longer back by the gas tank area. It was only several inches.
The person was using an Elco frame to replace his Malibu frame, and the length solution was to whack the back of both frames at a reference spot and weld the Malibu frame rear to the Elco's frame, and that was it.

Wagon and El Camino are 3-1/4" longer in the rear section behind the axle. All 64-67s A-bodies have a 115" wheel base. Ragtops and Elkys have boxed frames.

AHH yes. I see that the frame is boxed. Not a great look, but it should work. Now I can start on my custom chassis.
Thanks.

Boxed is good :)
It's much stiffer and stronger, and won't twist under accelleration or hard cornering.

The frame that I am building is using 2x4, .120 wall rect tubing. It will be super stout. But it is good to have the El Camino frame for reference.
