Hello,

I'm getting fed up with my original carburator setup on my 1966 SS396. It's an original holley 4160 and the original intake. I'm looking for a new carb, preferably holley, that will fit on the original intake.

I tried rebuilding the original holley and it still leaks, so I'm springing for a new carb. But I'm not sure what will fit. I tried looking at summit or jegs and they don't have any info on what is right for me application.

It's the original 396 325hp and it's pretty stock.

Any recommendations on carb's?

Thanks

Corey

Try this guy Chris Carb Shop 1-877-498-2272 he did my 65 holley carb he restored it, it looks like you pulled it out of the box new and it ran great. He is in Ohio.

have you checked the holly street avengers, should bolt up, i believe it's an upgraded design of the 4160, double check though to make sure.

The street avenger carb seems tempting. Does anyone know if this will fit my intake. Its a square-bore, so it should.

Also, does anyone know the best place to order this is?

Thanks

Corey, If your into keeping the car original, I would just have the carb rebuilt. There's quite a few places that will make the stock carb run like new again.

Yeah, I definately plan on getting the orignal carb rebuild. I spent too much money on it already not to. But now I'm in the phase of the restoration that I'm ready to get it on the road. I've had it for 6 years now just sitting in my garage and I NEED to drive it. I figure a few hundred bucks on a new carb isn't so bad.

I figure I can sell it or use it on my other Chevelle when I'm done. I ordered the street avenger last night from summit. Hope it bolts on alright, will try to start it this weekend.

Thanks for the help guys
