: Mulsanne blue PPG formula
Mike72ss Sep 24th, 05, 6:29 PM I know this is a longshot, but does anyone have the PPG formula for code 26, 2213, Mulsanne blue. My PPG paint shop mixed my up what showed in their computer for a match, 3217 , which is medium blue poly, some 80's GM color. I sprayed a test panel and it's not even close, way too light. Any help appreciated!

TechNova Sep 24th, 05, 7:13 PM I think I can get it for you Mon. afternoon. My 71 is that color and I mixed up a few ounces for touchup last year.
Mike72ss Sep 25th, 05, 9:21 PM That would be great! Could you also email me a picture of your 71?
Thanks!
Mike
Steve S Sep 26th, 05, 1:44 PM Don't know if this will help but here are Lucite, R&M, Ditzler #'s
Lucite = 5327L
R&M = A-2482
Ditzler = 2213
Mike72ss Sep 26th, 05, 7:39 PM Thanks Steve, Right now I need all the help I can get. If I can't get the exact PPG formula, I may have to see if one of the other manufactures can get me a small amount,shoot a sample panel, then have the PPG boys match that.

TechNova Sep 26th, 05, 10:26 PM I am having trouble finding this.
I have it on paper somewhere, it is not in the file cabinet where it is supposed to be. I'm a little worried, because my interior color formula is not there either and I need that again this winter!
I thought the next best thing would be to look up the formula again, but I switched to internet based formula retreival and it does not list this color in DBC or DBU. My old CD formula system, which is where I would have got it from original, has expired.
I will look more at work, if we don't get it soon, I will call Tech Support to get the correct one.
Mike72ss Sep 26th, 05, 10:31 PM Thanks for the help, I hope you find it too! :D

bubbamura Sep 27th, 05, 4:11 PM Don't know if this will help or not but try www.autocolorlibrary.com. (http://www.autocolorlibrary.com.) They have listings for all years and all makes, also do their own paint from the formulas. By the way, that is the color I chose for my 68!
Mike72ss Oct 5th, 05, 8:19 PM Well, I just sprayed out another test panel of the so called Mulsanne blue paint I just got back for the second time from my local PPG store. It's the same old story, still too light. I looked at the differences between the two formula's and it looks like they added a liitle green. Now I don't claim to be a paint expert, but if it were me I would say add some BLUE!. Tomorrow I'm going to take the paint to a different PPG store and hopefully they will have better luck.
