I have a couple of questions. First, where can a person buy touch-up paint for our chevelles. Specifically, I'm looking for cranberry red and cream yellow.

My second question concerns abrasives. Is rubbing compound used after 2000 grit to remove scratches? What comes after rubbing compound to remove the scratches it leaves? What is glaze used for?

I guess I had more than two questions http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks for any help on the topic.

As far as I know, there isn't anyone deaing in touch up paints for our older cars. The cheapest way to get some won't be cheap. Go to an auto body supply store (FinishMaster) and order a pint of each color in a single stage urethane. Also buy a little can of hardener for the urethane. You'll spend about $60 for 2 pints of color and the hardener.

Rubbing compound? It's for smoothing a painted surface. Rubbing compound is more coarse than 2,000. 3M has a whole line of finishing compounds called Finese It, Perfect-It, etc. When you go to FinishMaster, they have product info for your situation. The sales person should also be really helpful. You also have to have the correct pad for the finishing compound you purchase.

Try this link. I'm getting ready to order a 2 ounce touchup paint for my 70SS. They seem to have all of the paint selections for our Chevelles.
