I recently purchased a 66 chevelle.I dont know squat about them,except when i saw this car in a barn I knew it was for me.My question is where all do I look for these codes.I have seen several peoples inquiries about different codes, but Im clueless...What I do know so far is that it is a 66,ss,396 Red with red intirior. but what else is there to know? There is/should be a small metal tag ( about 4 x 2" ) attached to the firewall on driver's side.. this is the TRIM TAG.. copy evrything down that is on that and post it in the TAG Forum, or take a photo and post that, either way, that will provide the info. you seek.


There is also a VIN tag attached to the driver side inner door pillar.. it wil be about 2" long and should start with 138176.. you can post that also.

There are numbers everywhere.. on the engine, on the rear, on the trans, etc.. but lets take this one step at at a time ;)
