Had a new 69' SS that was Butternut Yellow. Loved it! Fairly easy upkeep too.

To answer your question: GM didn't keep those records, those type of records I should say.

Butternut Yellow on a 67 Chevelle is not an unusual or rare color though, so I would say:

Many. A very pretty color though.

Other colors were more rare., ie Deepwater Blue

PS...if it is truly high dollar car, please make sure you are getting what you pay for, ask questions first ;)

Butternut Yellow is graemlins/thumbsup.gif Personally, I prefer the Sunfire Yellow on the 67 vette. It has slightly more punch visually, yet unless you see them side by side, or know what to look for, they are really hard to tell apart. Now if only Dad would see it my way for his hardtop.... tongue.gif

My opinion, I love the Butternut Yellow. I plan on getting a 67 one day, and that will be my first color choice.

My dad had one brand new back in 67. His was butternut yellow as well. I loved that car he said, I was only 4 at the time, but i've seen plenty of pix with me sitting in the front seat. :D
I personally love the color as well, the pic in my signature looks butternut, but it's actually Zinc Yellow. It was already prepped for ZY when I bought the car, or BY would have been one of my choices for color.

I get mixed reactions on my butternut 67. When paint and bodywork time came I thought about changing it, but decided against it, I am now happy that I kept it. People love it or hate it. http://members.aol.com/chvellss/67side.jpg

I've always been fond of Butternut Yellow and a Black Vinyl roof. Gotta have the black vinyl roof IMHO.
Oh, and a really narrow, black, double line pinstripe along the top seam of the rear fenders, ending at the doors, and starting again mid door to carry on over the front fender.
I know the pinstripe wasn't original, but it "fits". At least in my mind's eye.

Good luck with whatever you end up getting.

Does anyone have a modern paint code for Butternut Yellow?

Thanks,
Wes
