Bill,
It would probably be easier in the long run to change the distributor to one with a tach drive.

Wrong HEI. He needs the computor controlled non vacuum advance model. I may look real hard at one for my 66 though.

Mike is correct thats what I need , but Thanks , I did not realize they making a distributer like that such an obvious solution. will check this out , this low mile nice shape 66 vette convert. numbers matching 327/250hp powerglide air and PW taken in trade by the dealership the family owns and now he wants to drive it on good days so installing a RamJet in front of the glide other than the throttle linkage on wrong side on the RamJet and the tach thing should be a easy swap and make a nice driver , some people born luckyguys family owns GM dealership and this car comes in on trade!!, my friend who is a tech there is doing the swap ..... Thanks again

Shoot, I have a friend that has a 66 convert with the 327/300 4 speed and drives it every chance he gets just the way it is. Until one of my coworkers redid the complete brakes and rear suspension, it had the original rotors, calipers and hard lines intact. As far as we can see, the carb is the only thing changed and he has the original carb too.
