: Correct color for 68
DaleM Jul 20th, 03, 11:09 PM Are these two cars (http://www.chevellestuff.com/68velle/gallery/k.htm) Tripoli Turquoise (K)? I love this one-year color but I'm not sure of the code. If not Tripoli Turquoise, what is the color?
Appreciate it.
Don_Lightfoot Jul 21st, 03, 9:22 AM Dale, they do not look like Turquoise to me. I'm wondering if it is Grecian Green HH. Just a thought
DaleM Jul 21st, 03, 1:25 PM I know, they don't look like what I'd imagine a turquoise would look like but that's the only code that comes close from what I can tell. I thought this was Grecian Green (code H)? (http://www.chevellestuff.com/68velle/gallery/h.htm).
mapleaf Jul 21st, 03, 1:54 PM Looks like Vedoro Green Met. according to the paint codes section in the front page of the site under 1968 at bottom under paint codes. It shows the GM paint squares that match paint codes.
1968 Chevelle SS 396/350
Don_Lightfoot Jul 21st, 03, 3:12 PM Could be Dale, I'm certainly not an expert on the 68 colors. Hey, looks like "The Blue Beast" behind the 68 in that new picture, probably from CB a few years back ;)
Alan F Jul 21st, 03, 4:05 PM Ivy Gold or Seafoam Green. Definitly not Grecian Green or Verdoro Green, which was very dark.
d1_bradley Jul 21st, 03, 6:48 PM My buddies '68 is the "sea frost" green(P), at least according to him. It looks like the one Dale thought was "grecian". I thought that the "two car shot" would be ash gold (G).
DaleM Jul 21st, 03, 7:09 PM The Verdoro Green was not a Chevelle (US anyway) color (code Q) so I'd bet either Ash Gold (G) or, more than likely Seafrost Green (P) as it does have a definate green tint to it.

I'll go with the P being Seafrost Green (not Grecian Green) and the pair as Ash Gold (G). Guess I'll have to wait until the next Chevelle show and check codes more closely on 68's, huh?
Jeff74 Jul 21st, 03, 8:28 PM I think they are ash gold, that pic is from midwest chevelle show. the elcamino was in oklahoma last show.
DaleM Jul 21st, 03, 8:57 PM Thanks Jeff. I've seen the pair at numerous Midwest shows but didn't pay attention to the colors. Glad I kept all those photos for ChevelleStuff :D
ctrain22 Jul 22nd, 03, 1:11 PM The picutres sure look like Ash gold to me. The malibu brings tears to me. My first brand new Chevelle was that exact combo, ash gold with the black vinyl top.
Barista Jul 23rd, 03, 11:30 PM That first pic is from the Midwest Regional ACES show held at the Double Tree Hotel in Overland Park KS, (Kansas City) in 2001. I remember very well watching the guy pull in with his 18 wheeler, the two of them sitting end to end on an open flat-bed trailer. It was a very cool sight to see. A matching set with Elkie & Coupe has always been a dream of mine. They were definitely green, that pict makes them look a little bit more gold than I remember them. The vinyl tops were definitely dark green, not black. I've always thought that color was seafrost green, but I couldn't swear to it.
