all things being equal which head would be better, not taking in consideration that vortec heads would need a different manifold.

Votec or World Products Torquer Heads.

thanks david

Vortecs. They have the modern "heart shaped" combustion chamber that burns better. The intake ports are also designed to produce massive torque. The downside (for you, seeing as the other heads you chose are 76cc heads) is that they're only available in 62-64cc chambers. Another downside is they're lightweight castings, more prone to cracking. And in stock form, they don't take much lift.

But "all else being equal", the Vortecs are a better design.

Ya, the 76c was kinda a turn off also. I was wondering about that also.

Vortec hands down, get good springs put on and guides cut for the lift you need. I am not a fan of the S/R torker's, kind of "generic" if you ask mee.

I have run both. The Torquers are just about the same as an old camel hump head. The Vortecs are the best mild street motor head I have ever come across. Use the vortecs get the guide clearence problems fixed and you will be very happy.
