: The new paint I promised you ;) ::::PICTURES::::
feedphillipnow Jul 18th, 04, 11:49 PM Well the cobalt blue in person to me doesnt look like what I thought it would. I dont know what I think of it yet, but theres no turning back now. So if you don't like it, keep it to yourself... haha. There is quite a bit of orange peel but I will be taking care of it, and awaiting the time to polish and buff this sucker down to a new shine. It's funny how a paint job comes out, the body work I had done... I thought certain areas wouldnt look good. Turns out the areas i thought were bad, like where I welded and perminently attached my fender extensions, that came out nice and smooth, cant even tell. But some other areas in the doors and rockers im not perfectly happy with. But all in all... eh... this is it without trim and the day off paint. I still need the new front tires to match my rear TT 2's graemlins/beers.gif Among many other costly things. Anyways, see ya for now....

MalibuDreamer Jul 19th, 04, 12:16 AM Looks nice
Do you have any side shots of it with the door closed? Im curious to see how the body lines show with the welded fend ext. no markers and shaved handles.

Pvt.Cowboy Jul 19th, 04, 12:20 AM Well, I like it and think it looks like a really cool blue. That's certainly Cobalt-colored alright. Won't really come out and sparkle until it's buffed out, polished, and fully reassembled. Almost there!
I think you'll soon be quite satisfied.
This would be a good car to show a shaved firewall on, too. JMO.
feedphillipnow Jul 19th, 04, 12:50 AM Shaved firewall? I took out the AC and welded out that big hole, I was planning on putting in an aluminum firewall, a guy on here makes them at his shop, they look reallllly nice.

NicksGarage Jul 19th, 04, 6:52 PM Looks sweet, but I have to ask. Did you shoot the clear on it yet? It looks kind of dull. If you did the color sand and buff should bring it up. Love the body modifications you've done to it.
Nick
feedphillipnow Jul 19th, 04, 9:17 PM Yeah it is very dull right now, everywhere but the fiberglass. The clear was shot, lots of orangepeel right now. I will buff, polish, and wetsand, whatever it needs all this week. Im process of putting trim and bumpers on right now. Its coming along, im starting to like it :D
baddbob71 Jul 19th, 04, 11:16 PM glad to hear your project is almost done. You should definately do the wetsand and buff before the trim goes on. That way you'll get all the areas instead of fighting to work around the mouldings etc., and compound it tough to get out of nooks and crannies like under mouldings etc. I usually keep the car masked until the buffing is done, usually only a polish after it is assembled. Did you shoot it yourself? Bob
69chevelle355 Jul 20th, 04, 8:34 AM the car looks awesome! graemlins/thumbsup.gif i have a question though if you don't mind....how did you do that to the fenderwells? they look almost flat? or maybe its just the way the picture is. awesome car
-Jay
feedphillipnow Jul 20th, 04, 5:03 PM Must be the angle of the picture. The Inner fenders are just the stock oval ones, nothin special. Ive seen flattened ones before, like the ford trucks had flat ones in the late 60's I love the way it looks.

feedphillipnow Jul 20th, 04, 5:06 PM Not too bad for a daily driver, my "8-12 foot paint job" The body lines on the passenger side arent as great as hoped, ill get some pics still. Anyone have fun pictures? Im bored at work again.... graemlins/beers.gif

feedphillipnow Jul 24th, 04, 1:33 AM haha... alright, ill take some this weekend. I still need to buff this thing to a shine.
Canuck64ss Jul 24th, 04, 12:41 PM Lookin' Good graemlins/thumbsup.gif graemlins/thumbsup.gif graemlins/thumbsup.gif
I can't wait to see pic's once wetsanded and buffed... You just verified how good they look without handles, locks and other rust collectors! Just remember to tape off the "sharp" edges before you wet sand to prevent going through the thinner areas...
Steve
feedphillipnow Jul 24th, 04, 4:20 PM All she needs now is a 496 w/ 5 speed conversion and some minor rear suspension work. And im set happy :D Pics on the way....
Dave I Jul 25th, 04, 5:05 PM The car looks nice. Reminds me of a 69 that a friend had years ago. I see you are from sacramento. I am just a little south of marysville. Ive got a 66 thats in many pieces and in need of body work. Trying to save up $$$ so I can take it to a body shop and see what they say. Maybe ill run into you some time on the streets. C ya

feedphillipnow Jul 27th, 04, 5:08 PM Ah Marysville, thats cool. I was just over there at the ampatheatre, I saw Fleetwood Mac, it was cool. Second time seeing them, I went with my Dad and he was freaking out because there were no people his age, which I found very odd too. Anyways, Id like to see that 66' sometime! Any pictures?
