Well, I've had my frame and various other suspension components media blasted. True to my nature, I didn't plan well enough about what I was going to do with the parts afterward and now I've got a freshly stripped bare metal frame sitting on my garage floor in the middle of monsoon season.
Basically, I've got three options as I see it. One, I could line my garage with plastic using inlet and outlet tacky filter/paint arrestors, etc. I believe I could get all the paint overspray itself, but not the volatiles which means my neighbors would smell it (not to mention my loving patient wife, who I would like to remain in that disposition ;) ).
Two, I could find a rental paint booth in the Phoenix/Mesa Arizona area. Anyone got a line on such a thing? Phonebook and google search yield no leads.
Three, I could acid etch the metal until I can manage either option 1 or 2.
I've read several other posts about the pros and cons of painting in your garage. Can those that have done it as well as those that have been ticked off by it comment? How bad is it with just spraying primer (assume garage lined and filtered)? I'm thinking it would not be easy to constantly drag the car to a paint booth everytime I want to spray a panel, but if I can't keep my wife/neighbors from smelling, that's what I'll do.
