: rolling *front* fender lips?

Hey everyone,
I am having some unexpected tire contact with the front fender lip after installing 17x8s on the front of the '65 (Lemans, not a Chevelle!). From the rubber marks, the tires appear to be rubbing the inside wheel lip for ~2 inches almost directly in the center of the wheel opening. I have heard of rolling wheel lips to fit tires in the rear, but what can be done in front? I'd obviously prefer this to look as stock as possible--thanks!
Tony

I would think that you could do the same on the front that is done on the rear. I read in Car Craft that the best thing to use is a wooden baseball bat, rolling it bettween the fender and the tire. It messes up the bat though.
I wasn't thinking the inner fender is bolted there. That will take some reshaping, but I still think the bat would get a good start on it

Tony, I'm sure that you know the tip about the bat out of CarCraft, but in this case, I don't think it would help. Because the inner fender attaches to the outer right where your contact is, it will be tricky(which is why you're posting here http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif). Here's an idea that might work. Cut a round section out of the inner fender centered where the tire is rubbing and then bend the lip it attached to with your favorite hammer. If you do it with care, no one would ever know unless they got down on their hands and knees to look. Just an idea.
