All,
I am still chasing a problem with my car stalling out after warming up for 8 to 10 minutes. It acts like the carb is being starved of fuel and wants to cut out. While parked, I then increase accelerator and it tries to run, but not smoothly. Then after cool down, about 20 miuntes, it runs fine, sometimes 20 to 30 minutes.
I have replaced inline fuel filters, fuel lines, gas cap, cked timing, cked for vac leaks, everything looks good. The carb maybe has 50 miles on it, Edelbrock 750.
The tank has about a quarter tank of gas in it, could this be bad gas? We have gone from very hot conditions to very cool this past week. The car has been sitting most of the week. Oh, I have seen mentionof a vent tube, or sock tube, where is that? Any advice would be appreciated.
Last case, I'm going to open up the carb and spray out everything, make sure I didn't get some debri up in there. I had made some steel braided fuel lines, maybe I didn't blow them out enough with the air compressor.
Engine 355, Edelbrock 750 carb, Holley mechanical fuel pump, steel braided lines, MSD 6AL and Billet Distributor.

Thanks
Pete

The sock is a sort of pre filter on the fuel pick up inside the tank. You have to take out the fuel sender to get to it. The reason people suggest that is could fail is that debris in the tank gets sucked up against the sock. When you shut off the car, the suctions stops and the debris falls back into the tank, so everything fine for a bit.

Double check for vacuum leaks, maybe even the gasket under the carb.

Had the fuel sock close up on the chevelle about a year ago,as Zeke said it would roll up ,let it sit it would unroll car would run fine again!
