Any info on locating holes for rear quarter panel rocker panel Ext. molding, and how many holes on my 66 SS??

Have 66 ElCamino custom, rear of wheel to bumper is longer than coupe. Four (4) holes for upper retainers. Bottom attaches to pinch weld with phillips,integrated washer, chrome screws. Has coat hook style retainer clip for top of mldg. Try lining up mould. at front, rear & bottom. tape in place. mark upper mould. location on 1/4. Decide where you want retainers to center on mldg. (one close to each end, two equally spaced between, place retainer so upper flange is just slightly below your mark. mark all 4 holes. use mldg. as straight edge. verify marks are in line. Just for giggles, use duct tape or similar, tape retainers exactly over where holes for retainer screws will be drilled. Being careful not to loosen or dislodge taped clips, set upper edge of mldg. into retainer clip. gently press bottom to pinch weld. Hows it look? If good, drill holes, doing one end first, & install retainer with screw. recheck fit at end, if good, do other end after re-verifying retainer mark location. there are some variations to this method. Most important, ideally, all retainers contact upper mldg. equally. Spray rustproofing in holes, screws & retainers prior to install. This took 15 minutes to type, takes about 5 to mark & drill. Variation on phrase used by all good carpenters. Measure twice, drill once. Karl

That seems to sum it up totally. Where would we be without TC.

Not that it really matters, but I recall only three retainers used on the SS cars with the shorter moldings...

Looked at repro malibu mldgs. I bought from Year One, three screw holes in bottom, would agree only three upper retainers would be correct. Thanks 1966_L78 ftgallant- You have Mail!!
