What else could I use instead of metal ready from por-15. I did my motor perches last night and the stuff did not stick well. The metal was just too shiney.

If I were you I'd get the metal ready from POR. It goes a long way and it's really not that expensive. I understand that you may have to wait for it to come in the mail but I think you'll get the best results with their product. my 2 cents

nothing. dont mess around. use all por-15 products. they work. if its too shinny clean it with por-15's marine clean. then metal ready. skuff it up with sand paper or sand blast it if needed. then give it a few coats of por-15. is good stuff.

What if I shoot it with a little primer? It took 4 weeks to get this POR-15 and I don't want to wait that long to get the other stuff. Wish the rep had told me I could not use this stuff on a clean frame!

no! the por-15 can not do its job over primer. if you must do it sooner, just scuff it up with sand paper or steel wool or what ever, then ckean it well with acetone. you can get that at any hardware store. then apply several coats of pro-15. the first coat may leave some areas uncoated but the second or 3rd coat will cover it. do not put it over primer.

I've used POR-15 many times with zero problems. Use the marine clean and metal ready. Follow their directions to the letter and you will get great results. I order from their web site and get the stuff in 1 week. The stuff isn't cheep but its worth it in results.

I just ordered some of the POR-15 Silver through the Web 2 Sundays ago. I got it the following Thursday...

P.S. The Metal Ready is worth every penny if you ask me...

I had real bad luck with one por rep, two orders, both were lost and never showed. I checked out the website por15store.com, these guys are great. I made two orders and both showed up within two days. They are also very knowlegable and willing to help with any questions. I would reccomend them to anybody. I agree that I would only use the POR brand.

Sounds like you had same rep I had. He claimed he lost 2 of my orders. I just order a frame resto kit from POR online site. Has metal ready and the clean solution with it. I did my motor perches and the paint would peal easy. Not gonna waste anymore of this stuff. Too expensive.

Thanks everyone.
