Has anyone ever used these wheel well patch panels and lower section panels for the rear quarter's? How are they? If they suck, can they be re-worked before installing them?
Thanks!

I think some one called them " Hammer to fit" with that in mind YES I have used Wheel well , lower 1/4 patch from and rear.
they are what they say, a formed panel the
kind of fits. They sure are better then
using aluminum flashing, old licence plates or discarded road signs.

i'd suggest using 3/4 full rear quarter panels from C.A.R.S. they fit good on my 69. my older brother used the patch-panels on his 68 impala and they fit like *****.

So. Theres nothing bad about these panels that a press brake, a little talent, good hands, and a mig welder could'nt fix?
I'm still not clear on what is actually wrong with these panels, although it seems clear that they are not a simple bolt, er.. weld on. Not plug and play! When someone talks about the bodylines not lining up, do they mean when looking at the panel straight on or looking through a section view of the existing panel. If it is looking at the panel straight on, then why not line up the body line of the patch panel to the body line of the car and adjust (cut) the top and/or bottom of the patch panel appropriately? Still confused. I'd fab. my own panels if it were not for the wheel flares, that would be difficult, and is best done from the die.

Lou, I had a local shop just weld in 2 patch panels on my 71, drivers side, behind the door, and behind the wheel. I had them just weld, and I finished the body work. They looked great(anything's better then big 'ol holes). I would do it again.
