hey guys, im trying to buy me a lunati 00026 cam for my bbc. summit and jegs has two weeks waiting. i dont want to wait i want to buy now.

do any of you know of some other source that has one in stock now? thanks dennis

Never mind i found one and its on its way. got it from high performance car shop out of moline IL. seems like most places had the cam and lifter kits but not just the cam. even holley didnt have the cam on the shelf. they had 5 cam and lifter kits that was just made to be sent out. they would have to grind me a cam. i was surprise they would sell direct. its kinda sad that the parts are more from the source then it is from the middle man. like summit or jegs.

kinda messed up really, cost more for the public to buy from the maker.

Yeah it is kind of goofy that it costs more to buy it direct but think about it this way.

I'll use summit as an example.

Holley wants summit to carry their line of products. People know and use summit very regularly and its therefore beneficial for holley to have summit carrying their brand. Summit needs to make money on these parts if they are going to carry them, otherwise its just silly to got thru the work of shipping product to break even at best. So holley offers summit a rather large discount to carry their line of product and sell in volumes. So the guy that calls and orders one piece is not going to get nearly the deal that the person carrying thousands of dollars worth of inventory is going to get.

It all comes down to who makes them the money.

Funny how life revolves around money isn't it.

the guy i talked with at holley sales dept. said that cam has been very popular lately, i told him the part number and he knew it right off the bat. he said they are making another run of them this week yet because of orders.

i was just surprise they would sell to the public, other companies i have called in the past said i would have to go thru the dealer, that always upsetted me, its like look, you guys make the part, and i want to buy a part, just sell it to me, why send me thru other people when you have it right there. your sitting next to my part give it to me......uuugghhh that would always tick me off, then i would have to call until i found someone with the part in stock.


just like full boar mufflers i cant buy mufflers from the maker i have to find some darn dealer that carries them. i know if i was a maker of some certain part and i would get a call every now and then to buy a part sure i would sell it . not turn that person away.
