Anyone running the cheaper turbo summit mufflers in a 3" exhaust set-up. I am leaning towards this myself. I want a quieter exhaust (NON-Flowmaster sound) but still have a thraoty sound of a 3" system. Maybe I'm dreaming on this but I think this set-up will give me a decent sound and still flow fairly decent. What do you guys think.
My motor is a fairy stout 406 small block.

i have them in 2.5", and for the price, they are the nicest sounding muffler i have heard. they are just as nice as my friends dynomax's, but not as loud.

they are real quiet, while cruising, and have a nice growl when opened up. if you have a cam, you can definatly notice it.

their is little to no interior resonance with them as well. a little bit at idle, but not much to worry about. i personally think they sound much better than flows.

oh, and im not running any type of cross over pipe, and flowmaster tails.

i do have a sound clip, but i gotta figure out how to resize it. once i do, i will post it.

Mine were only 2.5'' in Dia. In the inside. I gained 2-3 tenths when I removed them.

I am using Thrush Glasspack 2 1/2 in & 2 1/2 out 28 in long right after the headers (about 1 ft after..). Sounds decent and throaty. Not too loud.

I just picked up a set of offset 3" Dynomas super turbos. The 3.5" Magnaflows were just way too damn loud (I must be too old I guess LOL). I know it will probably be choking my setup, but what can I do. I almost got the summits just for the price, but couldn't find any pics to see if there are any deflectors in the corners or to see how much it necks down.

I've got the 2 1/2 inch mufflers with an H-pipe and I stopped the exhaust at the rear-end with down turns. My little 283 in my 64 Chevelle sounds much bigger when at idle or when I stand on it. It is nice and mellow while crusing though.

Any thoughts on Hooker Aerochamber mufflers? Looking for a muffler that will sound good but not resonate inside. Not interested in Flowmasters. 70 454 Elky - Stock.

Looks like there's a new one without the 2.5 inside on the left!!! :)
