I just filled a scratch with Evercoat metal glaze and sanded it smooth with 600 wet it is perfectly flush with the paint can I shoot base and mid coat now or do I have to still prime over it? It feels perfect ;)

All polyester glaze coats need to be primed to seal them from solvent absorbtion. If you paint directly the polyester will absorb a lot of the solvents and show up. If the polyester is sealed or better yet primed and sanded the paint will cover evenly with no paint solvents being absorbed, if this makes sense.

That's what I was afraid of. OK I guess I will try out the new primer gun and shoot color tomorrow. :(

Am with Bob. About a week or ago someone posted that they could still see the primer and or the filler after priming. Its all due to the different rates the solvents soak into.
Eventhou it feels smooth theres some very minor imperfections that could show up after painting. Priming would fill those imperfections. Not sure what sealer you are using but k36 wont fill any imperfections, just lay right over them or conform to its shape. Showing you those spots later when you base.
Not saying you cant just use sealer over small spots of filler but Ive never had any luck doing it :(

Just something that I noticed, you mentioned 600 wet. Hopefully you didnt WETSAND it!!
Body filler is like a sponge it will soak up that water.
Please tell me that you just used 600 grit DRY that can be used for wetsanding and didnt in fact wetsand the poly glaze...Eric

Sorry for the confusion, no I dry sanded with the black 600 I just always call it wet. I learned about filler soaking up water long ago, by error, of coarse :D
